Abstract:

Cnaphalocrocis medialis is a major rice pest in Asia. In the emerging efficient agricultural system of rice-fish coculture system, chemical control is prohibited to prevent aquatic products from being contaminated. Therefore, alternative pest control approaches must be explored. For this purpose, in three terraced fields of rice-fish coculture system in Qingtian County, Zhejiang Province, spatial repeated field trails were conducted respectively on the control of the damage caused by Cnaphalocrocis medialis by the preparations of Beauveria bassiana ZJU435 and Metarhizium bassiana Ma-CQ421.The results showed that the two bacterial agents can significantly reduce the density of leaf buds in the field, and the final relative control effect reached more than 60%. It was indicated that both fungal insecticides can be used for the green control of Cnaphalocrocis medialis in the rice-fish co-culture system.
