Abstract:

From garlic root rot samples collected in Shanghe County,Shandong Province,a total of 20 isolates were obtained. These isolates were identified using a combination of morphological and molecular approaches, and their pathogenicity to garlic seedlings was assessed through soil inoculation. The results showed that 17 isolates were identified as Fusarium oxysporum, and three isolates as F. ipomoeae. Both Fusarium species exhibited pathogenicity to garlic seedlings, confirming them as causal agents of garlic root rot. Among them,F. oxysporum displayed stronger pathogenicity, with average diseased plant rate and disease index reaching 95.24% and 59.59,respectively;whereas F. ipomoeae showed weaker pathogenicity, with average diseased plant rate and disease index of 66.67% and 20.32,respectively. Notably, the identification of F. ipomoeae as a pathogen of garlic root rot represented the first report of its kind, providing a theoretical basis for disease-resistant breeding and field control of garlic root rot.
