Abstract:

Since 1997, China has established a system for the protection of new plant varieties, which has played an important role in promoting breeding innovation and the development of seed industry. Through statistics and analysis of the application and authorization of new agricultural plant variety rights in Zhejiang Province from 1999 to 2021, it is found that the number of applications for new agricultural plant variety rights in Zhejiang Province has increased rapidly in recent years, and the awareness of intellectual property protection in the seed industry has been continuously enhanced. The authorized varieties are mainly field crops and melons and vegetables, and the main body of the authorized varieties is mainly universities and scientific research units, and some of the authorized varieties have been widely used in production. In addition, the problems existing in the protection of the rights of new varieties of agricultural plants in our province are also proposed, especially the perennial vegetatively propagated crops are the weak points of the protection of new varieties, and countermeasures and suggestions are put forward.
