Abstract:

In order to screen out sweet cherry varieties suitable for the southern regions under early-promotion cultivation, this experiment adopted 14 sweet cherry varieties to conduct a double-film early-promotion cultivation treatment in Taizhou. The phenological phases and fruit quality of the sweet cherries were investigated and measured. The results indicated that Qizao and Luoyaming exhibited outstanding performance and were suitable for widespread planting in southern regions. Qizao was an earliest-maturing variety. Under early-promotion cultivation, Qizao could mature in mid-April and showed large fruits with a high soluble solids to acidity ratio, less dehiscent fruits, and less malformed fruits. Luoyaming was a mid-maturity variety, and also performed large fruits, high soluble solid content, excellent taste for fresh eating, high firmness, and resistant to storage and transportation. Additionally, the two yellow varieties, Hongmi and Leini can be planted resonablely to meet diverse consumer demands.
