Abstract:

In order to screen for suitable varieties of edible Hemerocallis for planting in Hangzhou and surrounding areas, as well as to grasp parental traits and serve breeding work, 39 varieties of edible Hemerocallis were introduced and cultivated. The phenological period, growth performance, and product quality of the introduced varieties were mainly investigated. The results showed that the introduced varieties grew normally in Hangzhou, while nighttime flowering varieties generally showed winter deciduous leaves, higher stems, and higher yields. Daytime flowering varieties generally showed stronger resistance to lodging, stronger ornamental properties, and earlier flowering. The main nutritional components of the flower buds of some varieties with excellent performance were determined. Nighttime flowering varieties generally showed higher levels of non carbohydrate metabolites, while daytime flowering varieties generally showed higher levels of carbohydrates. The introduction experiment has laid a theoretical foundation for mastering the characteristics of varieties, promoting varieties, and cultivating new and superior varieties that are both ornamental and edible.
