Abstract:

To screen high-quality medium-sized fruit tomato varieties suitable for cultivation in the Cixi region,a systematic comparison of the main agronomic traits of 13 varieties was conducted. A randomized block experiment was carried out in a protected greenhouse in Kandun Sub-District,Cixi City, from 2025 to 2026. The botanical traits, fruit traits, and yield components were measured for each variety. The results showed that all 13 varieties exhibited pink fruit color. Zhewei 4 had the highest number of flowers per ear(9.2 flowers). S25001 displayed the largest fruit transverse diameter(8.1 cm)and the greatest single fruit weight(194.0 g). Yuyi Suantianguo had the highest soluble solids content(8.8%),while Zhewei 4 showed the lowest malformed fruit rate(10.22%). S25001 achieved the highest 667 m2 yield (6 914.2 kg),and S24010 produced the lowest 667 m2 yield(1 837.4 kg). Considering the overall performance of all traits,Zhewei 4 had a high number of fruit setting and a low malformed fruit rate, and Zhewei 2 showed well-balanced comprehensive traits. Therefore, both varieties can be recommended as main-promoting fruit tomato varieties for further demonstration and extension in the Cixi region.
