Abstract:

Fly insects are important pests in the citrus industry. In order to understand the occurrence pattern of fly insects in Lishui area, three representative citrus orchards were selected to use pheromone-baited traps and fly adhesive boards for trapping pests. The results showed that three species of fly insects in Lishui orchards:Bactrocera dorsalis,Zeugodacus tau,and Z. scutellatus, were trapped, with the first two being the dominant species. B. dorsalis peaked synchronously with citrus maturity, identifying it as the primary yield-reducing pest. Z. tau persisted year-round but developed a single distinct peak from late November to early December due to climatic constraints. This peak occurred later than the maturity period of citrus and did not overlap with B. dorsalis, causing no economic damage. Z. scutellatus accounted less than 3.0% of the total trapped population, warranting no specific control measures. Population dynamics were consistent across all monitoring sites. This study systematically elucidates the occurrence pattern of fly insects for the first time in citrus orchards in Lishui, providing reference for the prevention and control of fly insects in the local area.
