Abstract:

This study quantitatively analyzed the effects of sowing date, harvest date, and plant spacing on single root weight, root length, root diameter, and yield of two radish varieties(Zheluo 6 and Xinmei 1). The results showed that sowing date and harvest date had significant or highly significant positive effects on all traits of both varieties. Plant spacing had a highly significant positive effect only on the single root weight and root diameter of Zheluo 6,but no significant effect on its root length or on the single root weight, root length, and root diameter of Xinmei 1. Furthermore, plant spacing exhibited a highly significant negative effect on the plot yield of both varieties. In summary, appropriately delaying the sowing date, extending the harvest date, and reducing plant spacing are beneficial for increasing radish yield. This study provides a theoretical basis for the efficient cultivation of the two radish varieties.
