Abstract:

To explore the application effects of the novel plant growth regulators coronatine(COR)and phthalanilic acid(PA)on rice,a field plot trial was conducted in 2024. Applications were made at the late tillering stage, pre?heading stage, and grain-filling stages, respectively. The effects of different treatments on rice growth traits, yield components, and safety were compared and analyzed. The results showed that all treatments exhibited good safety. Both COR and PA could improve rice plant architecture by reducing plant height and the length of basal internode, thereby enhancing lodging resistance, with the combined treatment of coronatine and Guibaipei showing the best performance. PA treatments significantly increased the number of effective panicles, improved seed-setting rate and 1 000-grain weight, resulting in a yield increase of 29.8%-30.2% compared with the control(CK). COR treatments effectively increased the number of grains per panicle, and among them, the treatment with 3 applications of coronatine achieved the highest yield increase, reaching 40.0% compared with the control. In conclusion,COR and PA demonstrated outstanding performance in increasing rice yield and enhancing stress resistance, demonstrating potential to replace traditional plant growth regulators.
