Abstract:

This research aimed to elucidate the application effects of different substrates on strawberry cutting seedlings, thereby providing a theoretical foundation for the precise mixed application of peat and coir on strawberry cutting seedlings. Using the strawberry cultivar Fenyu 2 as the research material, the physicochemical properties of substrates with different ratios and the growth indicators of strawberry cutting seedlings were determined. The effects of different substrates on seedling growth were analyzed. The results indicated that the substrate composed of coir, perlite, and vermiculite at a mass ratio of 4∶1∶1 demonstrated higher total porosity and water-holding porosity compared with the substrate composed of peat, perlite, and vermiculite at the same mass ratio. Strawberry seedlings grown in the substrate composed of coir, perlite, and vermiculite at a mass ratio of 4∶1∶1 exhibited superior underground fresh weight,above-ground dry weight, underground dry weight, and whole-plant dry weight compared with other treatments. Meanwhile, strawberry cutting seedlings in this substrate treatment maintained relatively high levels of leaf stomatal conductance, intercellular CO? concentration, and transpiration rate.
