Abstract:

To identify high-quality taste-oriented tomato varieties suitable for substrate cultivation in greenhouses in Xiaoshan District, this study introduced six mainstream market varieties. Through systematic measurement and comprehensive evaluation of key indicators, including phenophase, disease resistance, fruit traits, yield, and commercial value, the adaptability and production potential of each variety under local greenhouse conditions were assessed. Results demonstrated that Jiahong 100 exhibited the most outstanding performance, combining high yield(4 228.95 kg per 667 m2),strong disease resistance(pathogen indices for viral disease and stem rot both at 0.2),and excellent commercial quality(visual score of 0.8),making it highly adaptable. Guanghui 101 stood out with its high sugar content(10.78 °Brix)and superior flavor profile(sensory score of 8.9),making it ideal for premium markets. Based on these findings,Jiahong 100 was recommended as the primary tomato variety for substrate cultivation in Xiaoshan's greenhouses, while Guanghui 101 served as a complementary variety.
