Abstract:

Qingyuan County is a suitable growing area for South Wuweizi(Kadsura longipedunculata),with relatively widespread wild resources, yet its development and utilization remain insufficient. This study selected wild and cultivated seedlings for comparative planting in Huangtian Town(altitude 380 m)and Zhangcun Township(altitude 760 m). The results showed that, for both cultivated and wild seedlings, the higher altitude of Zhangcun Township(760 m)was more conducive to the growth of stem diameter and stem length of Kadsura longipedunculata. Altitude had a highly significant effect on the growth rates of both traits. Higher altitude significantly increased the single-fruit weight and total sugar content of the fruits, but did not significantly affect other fruit quality indicators. In conclusion, for promoting the cultivation of Kadsura longipedunculata in Qingyuan County,it is recommended to select mountainous areas at altitudes above 500 m.
