Abstract:

The integrated crop-livestock ecological circular mode is a green and efficient agricultural production method which organically combines crop cultivation and livestock farming. Developing crop cultivation and livestock farming on hilly and gentle slope areas is in line with the development direction of resource-saving and sustainable agriculture in China. An analysis of the ecological circular mode of integrated crop-livestock farming of "corn + beef cattle" in Happy Family Farm of Pingyao Town showed that this mode took full advantage of hilly and gentle slope areas for crop cultivation and livestock farming, realizing the organic integration of cultivation and breeding. It improved the comprehensive land productivity, increased farmers' income, and effectively solved the environmental pollution problems caused by livestock excrement discharge and crop straw burning. This mode delivered favorable economic, ecological and social benefits, and offeredreference value and broad application prospects for the development of crop cultivation and livestock farming in hilly and gentle slope areas, particularly in regions with severely insufficient cultivated land resources.
